Just 3 months to go!

That’s right sailors – there are just three short months to go until BOISW 2018, so if you haven’t already secured your spot at NZ’s biggest and best regatta, it’s time to….

ENTER NOW!

Remember entry fees are the same as last year, but a late entry surcharge of $75 will apply after 31 December, so get in quick and save yourself some extra cash to “invest” in Mount Gay Rums at the North Sails & Southern Spars Marquee. 😉

Multihulls – we want YOU!

The Coastal Classic was a blinder this year with a nail-biting tussle between super-fast multis Frank Racing and the new Beau Geste Mod 70.

We’d love to see some more multihull action at Bay Week, so we’ve added a Multihull division to the entry form this year and would welcome all multis – whether you’re a champagne cruiser or a balls-to-the-wall racer – to come and join in the fun.

Room for one more?

There are loads of keen and talented young sailors involved in dinghy sailing here in the Bay of Islands, and many of them would relish the chance to get amongst some big boat action at Bay Week. Can you help make that happen? Drop Robbs Hielkema a line if you can give a young gun the chance to sail during BOISW, and we’ll put you in touch.

We’re also keen to hear from you if you’ve got space to take a journalist or media representative on board. This is a great chance to get your “15 minutes of fame”! Let us know by emailing media@bayofislandssailingweek.org.nz if you’ve got space for one more aboard.

Coming from Auckland? The trip home just got MUCH more fun!

For anyone venturing north to BOISW, the trip back down the coast after a week of racing and partying can be… well, a bit of a drag. So we’ve joined forces with the organisers of the Auckland Anniversary Regatta to turn that drag into an awesome new rally to Kawau!

Starting from Opua (at a very civilised time) on Saturday morning, you can now join a fun and friendly race to the Kawau Boating Club in beautiful Bon Accord Harbour, and enjoy a brilliant boaties breakfast laid on for you by the club at Prizegiving on Sunday morning.

From there you’ll be in prime position to join the Kawau Island to Princes Wharf Passage Race on Monday – part of the iconic Auckland Anniversary Regatta.

What better way to round off a great week of sailing in the Bay of Islands? For more info on the Auckland Anniversary Regatta, visit www.regatta.org.nz.
