Race week ready? Bay of Islands Sailing Week Crews Forming Now!

Race yachts are gravitating towards Northland as Bay of Islands Sailing Week is set to unfold next week, and there’s plenty of opportunities to be part of the action.

Whether you’re a seasoned pro who can trim sails in their sleep or someone who’s just getting their sea legs, there’s a spot for you at this iconic annual event.

And it’s easier than ever to get involved. You can now jump onto the MySail App to either register your availability as crew or list positions you need to fill on your boat.

It’s as simple as downloading the app and creating your profile – kind of like a sailing Tinder service!

My name is Noah Hastings from Toronto Canada. I am a professional sailor who grew up racing dinghies on the Great Lakes back home. I have been sailing and racing professionally for 2+ years. I’m that time I raced 2 Caribbean seasons ( including the Caribbean 600). This past season I was the boat captain on a VOLVO 70. I am in Sydney competing in the Sydney to Hobart. Planning to do some travel in NZ in the new year and would love to start with Bay of Islands Sailing Week!!

My name is Elsa Swetenham and I am a 23-year-old British sailor and racer looking for a spot for Bay of Islands Sailing Week 2025. I grew up racing dinghies in Jersey CI, and have since been racing on a variety of different yachts in the UK, Caribbean and Mediterranean – competing both in inshore and major offshore events (inc. Fastnet, Middle Sea Race and Caribbean 600). My experience ranges from small keelboats to 80ft yachts. A highlight of my sailing this year has been racing on the 12-meter, Crusader, in Les Voiles de St Tropez and Les Regattes Royales de Cannes, winning overall in the 12-meter class.
