Second Ferry Added for Bay Week Beach Party
Thanks to Explore and Otehei Bay, we’re bringing back the much-loved Bay Week Beach party in 2019.
Explore will be operating a ferry service to the party at Otehei Bay and back again on Thursday evening mid-regatta, so there will be no worries about finding a spot in a crowded anchorage, or finding your way back to Opua again in the dark.
A second ferry – departing Paihia only at 4:45pm – has just been added to the service. The main ferry will still depart Opua at 5:45pm, with pickups in Paihia and Russell on the way.
Book your ferry tickets at the heavily reduced price of $10 per person to secure your spot. Places are limited, so early booking is recommended!

RNZ Navy on board
We’re pleased to announce that the Royal New Zealand Navy will once again be bringing their Chico 40 training yachts to Bay of Islands Sailing Week in 2019.
Mako II and Paea II are signed up to race in the Island Racing C division, and we’re sure their commanding presence will be felt both on and off the water! We look forward to seeing those big Navy spinnakers flying over the Bay again soon.
