Explore Beach Party 2023 | Need to Know

We look forward to hosting you at Otehei Bay for the annual Bay of Islands Sailing Week Beach Party. Please read the details below to ensure you get where you need to go and have a memorable evening for all the right reasons!

Please note that capacity is limited and may be restricted on the evening for those without pre-purchased tickets.

Ferry Transfers

Please only board the departure point and time on your ticket.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. If you need to change your departure point/time please contact us on 0800 653 339
We will do our best to accommodate you but last minute changes may not be possible

OPUA: Opua Marina Fuel Dock | 6pm & 7pm
PAIHIA: Boarding is from Pier 7, Paihia Wharf | 5pm, 5:45pm & 6:45pm
RUSSELL: Boarding is from Russell Wharf (far end) | 5:10pm, 6:15pm & 7:15pm

NO TICKET – NO BOARDING

Please ensure you have either a printed copy of your booking confirmation OR display the booking confirmation clearly on your phone.

Group Bookings

All passengers travelling on the same booking confirmation MUST board together.
If you have booked multiple people under one booking, ensure all passengers board together. If your whole party is not present, you will have to wait until they are to board

Return Transfers

Return ferries from Otehei Bay will operate at set times and must be pre-booked.
Returning to Paihia or Russell Departs Otehei Bay 9pm | 9:30pm | 11pm
Returning to Opua Departs Otehei Bay at 9pm | 11pm

There will be a limited menu available for purchase from Otehei Bay Cafe from 6:45pm

No ID – No Alcohol

If you are lucky enough to look under 25 please bring valid ID with you in order to purchase alcohol. Acceptable forms of ID include:
HANZ Card / Kiwi Access Card | NZ Driving Licence | Passport

No BYO

Due to liquor licensing laws no BYO alcohol is permitted.
This applies to the Explore Ferry and Otehei Bay. Only food or drinks purchased on board the vessel or at the restaurant is allowed on site. This will be strictly enforced.

Otehei Bay Bar & Cafe is open this weekend – stop in for breakfast, lunch & drinks
Boaties welcome or alternatively book our Otehei Bay Ferry
