Save the Dates – 22-25 January, 2019
It’s official folks! The 17th edition (or should we say the XVII edition?) of the CRC Bay of Islands Sailing Week regatta will be held from 22-25 January, 2019.
CRC have come on board again as headline sponsor, and we thank them and all our returning sponsors enormously for their continued and generous support of NZ’s premier keelboat regatta.
Planning is already underway, and with some new faces on the organising committee and plenty of new ideas on the table, we’re as keen as ever to make this our best regatta yet. Stay tuned for the NOR and entries opening early August.
Millennium Cup date change
In 2019 the Millennium Cup superyacht regatta will be held the week immediately after Bay Week – great news for those of you who have always been keen to crew in both regattas, and also for owners who struggle to find top class crew with the Mil Cup on at the same time. We think it’s a great decision for both regattas, and we look forward to TWO spectacular weeks of sail in the beautiful Bay of Islands early next year.
Survey – What Do You Want From Bay Week?
We’re keen to hear from you, the sailors, to get your impression of how the regatta format can change over time to keep it fun and competitive and keep you coming back. We’d like to grow the fleet sizes and make sure the racing format is enticing people to enter.
Could you please take 3 minutes to provide us with your thoughts in this quick survey?
Kawau Rally Returns
Just a heads-up at this stage – for those of you coming from Auckland or further south, we’ll be putting on a fun rally to Kawau after Bay Week, to make the journey home a bit less arduous.
In conjunction with the Ports of Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta, the rally will start from Opua and finish at the Kawau Boating Club with breakfast on Sunday morning, putting you in prime position to join the Anniversary Day racing on Monday morning. More details to follow.
