Beach Party 2023 is all go!

It’s the news you’ve been hanging out to hear, and we’re stoked to announce the Bay of Islands Sailing Week Beach Party will be going ahead!

Thanks to our sponsors Explore and their fantastic resort at Otehei Bay on Urupukapuka Island, the famous BOISW Beach Party will be returning for another round on the Thursday night of the regatta – Thursday 26th January, 2023.

The Bay of Islands Sailing Week Beach Party at Explore’s stunning beach resort, Otehei Bay, is always a highlight of the regatta. This family friendly beach party is open to everyone – sailors and non-sailors alike – to enjoy the live music, sunshine and summer vibes on the beach at Otehei Bay.

How to get there – Explore ferry transport

Explore’s scheduled ferries from Opua, Paihia and Russell are the easiest and safest way to get out to the Beach Party and back again, especially if you’re planning to partake in a few adult beverages.

There’s an incredibly special price of just $20 return – a big saving on the usual return ferry price of $50.

Ferry departures have been known to SELL OUT so you’d be well advised to book early and secure your spot.

Ferry Schedule – to Otehei:
Ferry 1 departs: Paihia 5:00pm | Russell 5:15pm (arrive Otehei 6:00pm)
Ferry 2 departs: Paihia 5:45pm | Opua 6:00pm | Russell 6:15pm (arrive Otehei 7:00pm)
Ferry 3 departs: Paihia 6:45pm | Opua 7:00pm | Russell 7.15pm (arrive Otehei 8:00pm)

Return Ferry Schedule:
Ferry 1 departs Otehei Bay 9.00pm – drop offs at Russell, Paihia & Opua
Ferry 2 departs Otehei Bay 9.30pm -drop offs at Russell & Paihia only
Ferry 3 departs Otehei Bay 11.00pm – drop offs at Russell, Paihia & Opua
