The hottest event of the sailing season is back for another round. We’ve teamed up with Explore and Otehei Bay again to bring you the Bay of Islands Sailing Week Beach Party on Thursday evening of the regatta – 23 January, 2020.
The last Beach Party was a sell-out, so you’ll want to book early to secure your spot at the next one!
What’s it all about?
Join us out at the fantastic Otehei Bay beach resort on stunning Urupukapuka Island for an evening of beach vibes, live music and great food and drink served by Explore’s friendly crew. There will be even more ferry capacity this year, and we’ve been assured the ferry bar will be stocked to the brim!
Live music will be provided by the fabulous Legacy Band – a three-piece Northland band with a huge repertoire of Blues, Soul, R&B and Funk – all played with a heartfilled sound and a groovy vibe that’ll have you up on the dancefloor in no time.
The Otehei Bay Cafe and Bar will be serving food and drinks, with a streamlined menu this year to speed up service and make sure no sailor goes hungry.
Check out the Photo Gallery from the last Beach Party to see what it’s all about.
How to get there – and back again
Explore’s scheduled ferries from Opua, Paihia and Russell are the easiest and safest way to get out to the Beach Party and back again, especially if you’re planning to partake in a few adult beverages.
There’s an incredibly special price of just $15 return for BOISW participants plus family and friends. That’s a massive saving on the usual return ferry price of $50.
This time, ferries will be accepting ‘walk-on’ passengers, but ONLY subject to availability. Last year’s ferry departures were SOLD OUT so you’d be well advised to book early and secure your spot.
