Over 50 entries already – it’s going to be a big year!

At last count there were already 56 boats entered – well ahead of numbers by this time in previous years. Good numbers across the divisions means there should be plenty of competition, and our 20th anniversary is shaping up to be a great week.

Of course we welcome all entries, but we’d really love to see a few more in divisions where numbers are currently light, such as:
- C Division (the Open Racing division for boats typically 8.8-11.9m LOA, and/or with a PHRF of 0.700-0.839)
- Multihulls – both the Open Racing and Island Racing divisions
- Young 88s – while the current 3 boats entered are enough to form a division, we’d love to see a few more contenders from this ultra-competitive class.
We’ve also got some good racing shaping up in E division where there are two Elliott 5.9s already entered, and we know there are a few more at Opua who might want to enter too for some tight class battles among that fleet.
And there’s been characteristic big talk from the Pied Piper fleet about getting several boats up to BOISW, but so far it hasn’t materialised into action. Come on Piedys – you know you want to…
